We are raising some barn-yard chickens, over the next year we will be working on refining our flock to a few specific breeds. As new farmers, we are just very excited to start getting eggs (hopefully soon!). We have raised most of our chickens from eggs purchased from local Colorado farms.
In addition to our barn-yard crew we have started a small flock of silkies, because who doesn’t love bathing and blow-drying a chicken that only lays half sized eggs (kidding!). But I mean, a fluffy chicken… we couldn’t resist.
